Tell the Rangernet World What's going on here

Ahoy?

PostAuthor: Doc Wheeler » Tue Mar 02, 2010 6:10 pm

*I thought I'd go silent myself, for a bit to listen..

However the sounds in my head of good times past-
Of long trips in the night to a new camp sight..

Sweat on the trail and the sting of a cold river plunge..
the heat of a campfire and the wind in the trees

brought me back..

->A No.1<- :idea:

The excitement of a coming event or time to
"be" a Royal Ranger.. Instead of just a kid..

This was a long time ago..
US Army surplus from WW2 or Korea was "camping gear"..
and most adults in early 1960's were Vets.

You should have been there.
*Then you might understand how strange it is to see today.

I question the fun of a video game against a pine board-
Hammer and can of nails. "That was then- this is now"

But some things don't add up.

But this morning I watched a Bedouin family in Oman welcome
a British visitor into their camp. It looked like 100 years ago..
but they had cell phones and GPS units on camels..

WW1 battle rifles serve well today 100 years later-

The Bedouin takes what he wishes and rejects what he does not need of technology.
